​Founded in 1883, the Cambridge Footlights is a world-renowned student sketch comedy society. The Footlights has provided a platform for budding comedians and actors to take to the stage and make their audiences laugh. Many former members have gone on to win prestigious awards such as Oscars, BAFTAs, and Emmys, while others have enjoyed great success in the entertainment and media industry. A highlight of many students’ time at Cambridge, the Footlights is closely linked to the identity of the University and the history of British comedy as a whole.​
