Expect laughs, laughs, and more laughs...
Footlights bring you the funniest songs, sketches, monologues and stand up in an evening of non-stop, back-to-back fun-filled hilarity. The material is always original and always varied. It can be soft and silly; rude and spikey; wordy and nerdy or a little surreal - whatever the style, it's always "uproariously funny" (Varsity)
Tullimonstrum
21:30, Tue 5th May 2026 at Corpus Playroom

Scientists can’t figure out the species of the (now extinct) Tullimonstrum, and they can’t figure out Footlight Eve Tully either. Eve Tully may have existed over 300 million years ago swimming around the sea in what is now Illinois, but who can say for sure?
In this silly, eclectic mix of stand up and character comedy, Eve dresses up as a carrot, fails to do magic tricks, and has fun with her friends. As well as this, Eve asks the question: why does everyone want to label the Tullimonstrum? Why can’t people just mind their business and leave the Tullimonstrum alone?
21:30, Wed 6th – Sat 9th May 2026 at Corpus Playroom

Everyday, you encounter people you only meet once. Those encounters can scare you, confuse you, surprise you and even change your life. Whether it’s a strange conversation on the train, a moment of mistaken identity in a lift, or meeting the person who might happen to kill you.
Bear reluctant witness to these chance encounters in a new comedy horror sketch show, where everyday bad timing and mismatched circumstances give license to the absurd and unsettling. Encounter the strangers you will see only once, but will never forget. Even if you tried to.
21:30, Wed 20th – Thu 21st May 2026 at Corpus Playroom

Shiv Kapila is a pretty chilled guy. No worries, no dramas. No point crying over spilt milk. Right? Wrong. Because a lot's been going wrong. All of it in fact. This whole time. He hasn’t figured any of it out yet. But he’s got 60 minutes.
Join Shiv in his debut hour of stand-up exploring what’s worth all the drama, and what’s not.
21:30, Fri 22nd May 2026 at Corpus Playroom

First quarter over. Second conference today. Three-Martini lunch.
19:00, Sun 24th May 2026 at Pembroke New Cellars

From historical spy networks to what it means to be a Bond Villain, this sketch show exposes state secret silliness - lifting the veil on everything you thought you knew about spies.

Boys in books are better—right? Certified romance-addict Cath certainly thinks so. In fact, she starts to believe that romance simply doesn’t exist in the real world when she breaks up with her long-term boyfriend, Kevin. With a surprise visit from her Fairy-Avon-Lady, and a rash wish, Cath is about to find out that book boyfriends are much easier to manage on the page. With not one but three romance archetypes vying for her hand, Cath must face the reality of her fantasy men.
The Harry Porter Prize Winner 2025/6, Sir Stephen Fry describes Prints Charming as: “A good old-fashioned rom-com but in the modern dress of dating apps and very 21st century characters and (bad) manners”.
What job would Mr Darcy have in the 21st century? (Yoga Teacher)
How long does it take for pining to get old? (Halfway through act 2)
Do you really want somebody to sweep you off your feet?
23:00, Fri 29th May 2026 at ADC Theatre

Footlight Matt Edge has been here a long time. A long long time. He’s seen it all: the highs, the lows, the nightclub toilets at closing time. He’s seen behind the curtain of world famous institutions, sat on both sides of a supervision, and even been inside of a library once or twice. But the question that remains from eight years at Cambridge: has he learnt anything?
Join Matt for his debut stand-up hour as he chases the pigeons of ambition through the park of over-extended metaphor. Come and revel in a city where the only thing that’s constant is that nothing ever changes!
21:30, Tue 16th June 2026 at Corpus Playroom

Join Footlight Aisling Sinclair for a not so original stand-up hour about Lithuanian Embassies, Jason Bourne and not knowing how to move on with their life. The good news for her, she has plenty of time to work it all out - infinite time in fact. Stuck in a time-loop performing the same show night after night, Aisling is going to have to tell a story she already hates - or maybe this time she’ll sacrifice the show to chaos for the chance to break free and try something new?
Aisling Sinclair “was funnier the last time we saw her” and “DJDKSKSJ I’m stuck in a Time Loop Factory”.

Maysa Brice is trying to perform stand-up comedy. She hopes she is the first ever person with a stammer to do so at the University of Cambridge (if not, she will cry). The only believable problem? Her Compère really doesn't like her. Her more unbelievable problem? She has an Evil Twin who's less of a twin and more of a manifestation of all her bitterness. And she can't exactly cut off her darker self when he is literally her. Once she blocked his number and her phone exploded. Anyway, he's heard that she's putting a show on and is quite frankly offended she hasn't asked him to take part, so he will get on that stage whether she likes it or not.
Join Maysa Brice for 90 minutes of stand-up comedy and who knows, you may be the first ever audience to witness a 5'4 young woman with a stammer not be able to decide whether she wants to fight or aggressively make out with herself.
